Online–Calculation of liner size:
Determine the correct liner size for round containers:
- Measuring round containers:
- Width of bag: Equal to the outside diameter of the container ∗ 3.14 (pi). Equal to the distance around the top of the container.
- Height of bag: Equal to ½ of the diameter of the container + 4 inches (for overhang) + height of the container.
- Diameter of the bag: Distance across the top of the container.
Online–Calculation of liner size:
Determine the correct liner size for square or
rectangular containers:
- Measuring square or recantgular containers:
- Width of bag: Equal to the total of all four sides.
- Height of bag: Equal to ½ the smallest of the four sides + 4 inches (for overhang) + height of the container.
- Diameter of the bag: Distance across the top of the container.

Online–Calculation of gauge:
- A conventional micrometer or even a film gauge will not provide an accurate gauge reading.
- A bag can have a different gauge at one end from the other (caused by inferior materials or extrusion deficiencies).
- You need to determine the "actual average gauge" throughout the bag surface.
- Use a postage scale to arrive at gram weight of bag.
